What’s new

Real Browser and Messaging swipe entry, correction replacement, punctuation spacing, backspace and app switching passed on the test emulator. Five Latin letter-position presets, a labeled Arrange keys menu action, explicit Move / Swap editing, and Advanced appearance controls are included. Physical tablets, OEM taskbars and split-screen remain hands-on acceptance checks.

  • A first-open “Set Keys as default keyboard” action guides you through Android’s enable-and-select screens. The same action is available in Studio → Advanced.
  • Layouts that adapt to phone, tablet and narrow windows, with refreshed photo placement after rotation.
  • Offline English swipe typing and completions using a bundled 627-word dictionary, plus common-phrase next-word suggestions.
  • Optional local vocabulary learning, off by default. Clear learned words in Advanced.
  • Navigation-area clearance on first keyboard appearance.

Install and get started

  1. Download the APK. If Android asks, allow installation from the browser you used.
  2. Install Keys and tap Open. Tap Set Keys as default keyboard, enable Keys in Android settings, then return, tap Choose keyboard and select Keys.
  3. Open a text field to try typing. Choose your theme or photo in Studio and tap Apply to save.

Keep your existing keyboard available while trying this release candidate. An update with the same app identity and signing key keeps its app data. Older preview packages may be separate apps; their settings do not transfer automatically.

Before you try this candidate

Automated checks passed: 58 emulator tests and 52 host tests. Real Browser and Messaging swipe/correction checks pass on the emulator. Physical tablet rotation, manufacturer taskbars and actual split-screen resizing still need device acceptance. The English dictionary is intentionally small; this is not a final production release or a Google Play listing.
